One killed in McLennan County truck stop shooting

Ross, Tx ( FOX 44 ) – A truck stop store clerk has been shot to death in northern McLennan County.

Thirty-year-old Dipak Oli was pronounced dead early Sunday morning at the Gator Stop # 3, located at 16075 North I-35 Frontage Road, near Ross. Sheriff Parnell McNamara describes this as a “brutal murder.”

Few details were being released early in the investigation and no suspect information was available as members of the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division worked the case.

Investigators are reported to be working the crime scene and following several possible leads as of Monday morning. Anyone with information is being urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 254-757-5095.

“We are deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence; our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. We are committed to bringing the perpetrator to justice and are utilizing all available resources in this investigation.”
