One of the most intriguing prospects on South Carolina’s 2025 commitment list is EDGE Kobby Sakyi-Prah .

GamecockCentral.com recently caught up with Roswell High head football coach Chris Prewett to get more insight into the three-star defender’s game.

“He’s a kid that’s really only played football a couple years,” said Prewett. “He played a little bit of organized football in middle school. Didn’t play as a freshman, more of a paperwork issue. He started 14 games for us as a sophomore and then missed all of his junior year with an injury.”

Despite the overall inexperience of Sakyi-Prah, his high school head coach has seen enough to get a sense of the upside.

“I’ve told coaches, I don’t even know what the ceiling would be for him,” Prewett explained. “He’s still learning football. He’s still learning football, why certain things are happening or why certain things are happening to him.”

The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder began his playing days as an interior lineman before transitioning to his current role on the outside.

Said Prewett: “I’ve seen nothing but growth from him since he’s been here. He’s done nothing but get better football-wise. Most of the plays you watch, I mean, he’s doing that on instinct. So I told coaches I think the ceiling is super high with him.”

As a sophomore, Sakyi-Prah racked up 89 tackles, 11 TFL, 9 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles.

He also sports an above-average wingspan and athleticism.

“God gave him a lot of ability and gave him a lot of length and gave him a lot of size,” said Prewett. “Some of that stuff helps him out. As long as he continues to get better and continues to take coaching – he’s done nothing but be really good with us with that – there’s just so much more room. When we got to camps and stuff like that, he runs by people, he runs through people, he runs around people. There’s just a lot of room for growth there.”

With his frame, Sakyi-Prah has plenty of room to continue to grow. Prewett thinks that his current pupil is going to almost instantly put on more weight and strength.

“Saying that he go he’ll go there and put on 10 pounds in two weeks would not be a shocker,” Prewett said. “He’s going to have a top strength program telling him what to do and working with him on that. As long as he’s gaining weight and he’s keeping his speed and quickness, then we’re good with that. I think probably everybody at South Carolina would say the same thing.”
