The City of Dunwoody is kicking off “Direction Dunwoody,” the comprehensive plan update for 2025-45, with an online survey , pop-up tent, and public workshop, according to a statement released by the city.

“The comprehensive plan will serve as the community’s vision for the future, guiding decisions about land use, transportation, economic development, housing, infrastructure, and more,” the statement said.

Dunwoody Community Development Director Richard McLeod said public input is the key to determining the future of the city.

A consulting team from TSW is working with city staff to gather input and provide analysis of opportunities and needs.

The Dunwoody community is encouraged to participate early in the process in three ways:

    1. Fill out an online survey, which is now available on the City of Dunwoody website . It includes questions about transportation concerns, housing issues, and development.
    2. Visit the city’s pop-up tent in the Dunwoody Village during the Back-to-School Party at Bar(n) on Friday, Aug. 9. City staff and consultants will be available between 5 and 8 p.m.
    3. Attend the first public workshop on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Park Place, 4505 Ashford Dunwoody Road from 5 to 7 p.m., with presentations at 5 and 6 p.m. The workshop will be held in the retail space across from Café Intermezzo.

In addition to the Comprehensive Plan, the Dunwoody plans to update its Unified Development Ordinance. The two processes are complementary since the Comprehensive Plan sets the vision and policy, while the UDO implements both. Coordinating both will streamline the process and integrate engagement.
