The couple opened The Buttery ATL four years ago during the height of the pandemic selling fresh-baked bread and pastries, grab-and-go food, meal kits, and artisan food items and pantry goods.

No reason was provided for the decision to close The Buttery, located around the corner from Daily Chew on Manchester Street in the Morningside-Lenox Park neighborhood.

Rough Draft reached out for further comment on the closure.

Hopkins and his wife also own restaurants Holeman & Finch at Colony Square, Hop’s Chicken and H&F Burger at Ponce City Market, and H&F Burger and C. Ellet’s Steakhouse at the Battery Atlanta in Cobb County.

The couple closed their award-winning fine dining restaurant Restaurant Eugene after 15 years on Peachtree Road in Buckhead five years ago, intending to replace it with a more casual concept. That never materialized. The space is now home to Prefecture Japanese Steakhouse.

They also closed Holeman & Finch Public House at the same Buckhead complex, announcing its relocation to Colony Square in Midtown. The restaurant, known for its iconic double-stack cheeseburger, reopened at Colony Square in 2023.
