14-year-old boy charged with 6 carjackings, 6 robberies on North Side, West Loop
CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy has been charged with 14 felonies in connection with a violent crime spree on Sunday, as well as an attempted hijacking in June. The boy was part of a group that carjacked and robbed four people in the 1900 block of West Irving Park around 5:40 a.m. Sunday, according to CPD. As CWBChicago reported that morning, a carjacker driving a white car pulled in front of the victim’s Mazda CX3 to block their path, and two gunmen got out, took the victims’ valuables, and then drove away with the Mazda. CPD said the victims were two 22-year-old men and a man and a woman who were both 21.

CHICAGO (CBS) — A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash involving a semi-truck in The Loop Wednesday night. It happened just after 10 p.m. in the 10-100 block of East Lower Wacker Drive.Chicago police said the man was walking outside when he was struck by the semi-truck, which then fled the scene without stopping to render aid.The victim suffered trauma to the body and was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where he died. As of Thursday, no arrests have been made. Area 3 detectives were investigating.
