ROUND ROCK, Texas (Talk1370.com) -- Authorities say a 17-year old suspect has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting at a community Juneteenth celebration in Round Rock this past weekend.

Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks said that Ricky Thompson III, of Manor, was taken into custody by members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force around 7:30 Thursday morning in Pflugerville.

Investigators have identified Thompson as one of the individuals involved in a fight between two groups that resulted in gunshots being fired at the event at Old Settlers Park Saturday night. Two people were killed and 14 others were hospitalized, according to police.

"We know Ricky Thompson was not the only shooter at this event. We are still looking for other suspects," Banks said.

According to Banks, Thompson has no criminal history. He's currently facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a second-degree felony; further charges are expected as the investigation continues.

The department had originally called a news conference for 11 p.m. Wednesday night to provide a "case update"; officials later decided to delay that news conference to Thursday morning based on "pending new information."

Banks said Thursday morning that he had been hopeful that an arrest or other significant update would have been made on or before Wednesday's Juneteenth holiday, but said officials decided to delay the news conference in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation.

Rewards of $20,000 are being offered for information leading to the arrest of a suspect or suspects in the case, including a $10,000 reward from Gov. Greg Abbott's public safety office.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Round Rock Police.
