Public invited to countywide Climate Action Plan update Wednesday
The Routt County Climate Action Plan Collaborative will present a public update on progress for the countywide action plan during a virtual meeting 1-2 p.m. Wednesday. Virtual attendees can learn about the collaborative’s updates and actions so far to implement the Climate Action Plan. The featured speaker will be CAP Collaborative Board Chair and Steamboat Springs City Council President Gail Garey along with updates from Collaborative Working Group members. Citizens can pose questions during a roundtable Q&A following the update.

A calf from the ranch where two calves have been killed in South Routt county. Two more head of cattle have died because of wolves in Routt County. It is confirmed on the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website. A bull calf is reported to have died on July 7 and it was on the same South Routt ranch as another wolf depredation on June 16. Another heifer is reported to have died from wolves on July 10. The ranchers in South Routt are saying it was close to McCoy.
Snowalarm forecast: Steamboat to see high temps this weekend
Steamboat Springs and Routt County reached into the upper-80s on Thursday and Friday, and residents and visitors can expect even warmer temps throughout the weekend. According to the local forecast produced by Mike Weissbluth of SnowAlarm.com, Steamboat is in store for the hottest days of the summer so far this year with highs of 90 degrees or more, almost 10 degrees above the average for the area.
