New "Build Ready" industrial site announced to benefit Rowan, Morgan, and Menifee Counties

State and local officials gathered in Rowan County to announce the completion of a new build-ready industrial site.

Located in the John Will Stacy MMRC Industrial Park, the new 6.5 acre location has with on-site utilities including a gas, sewer and waterline. Jason Slone is the president of the Morehead-Rowan County Chamber of Commerce.

He said these build ready sites make it much easier to attract companies to the area.

“We provide them the opportunity to avoid delays in Kentucky winters and weather. As you know, being in the Ohio Valley that's one of the more difficult things, to be able to build around our wet winters and wet springs, so it creates a lot of delays.”

Slone said this is the second build ready site in the industrial park. He said these sites allow companies to come in and provide higher paying jobs for people in the surrounding counties.

“MMRC stands for Morgan, Menifee, and Rowan County. So it supports the workforce and industrial perspective for those three counties.”

The newest site was completed within the last thirty days, and Slone says there are already companies interested in the location. With this new site in Rowan County, the commonwealth is now home to roughly 22 available Build-Ready sites.

Slone said he has already been approached by companies interested in the county's two build ready sites.
