    Rowan County softball team advances to Little League World Series

    WARNER ROBINS, Ga. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Rowan County Little League Softball team is returning to the World Series.

    The team of 11- and 12-year-olds representing North Carolina defeated Virginia Friday morning in the Southeast Region finals to advance to the tournament, which will be played in Greenville, North Carolina.

    Rowan County also made the Little League World Series last year, as champions of the North Carolina Region.

    The team draws players from Rowan County and the Mooresville area.

    They have a storied history of success on the international diamond. The organization won the Little League crown in 2019 and 2015.

    The 2024 Little League Softball World Series begins Aug. 4. Rowan County will be playing in the Orange Bracket.
