ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — Law enforcement got to see an unusual sight Sunday morning, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 4:46 a.m. on August 4, RCSO Sergeant Crews was headed into Spencer on Long Ferry Road when he spotted an alligator in the road.

N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission officers responded and took the reptile into their care. The carnivorous creature is now at a zoo in eastern North Carolina, according to N.C. Wildlife Sergeant Barbee.

“Never know what you might run across on night shift patrol in Rowan County,” the Sheriff’s Office wrote, calling the incident an “Alligator Adventure.”
