Sheriff's Office: Alert driver helps thwart armored truck robberty attempt
SALISBURY - An alert armored truck driver is credited with thwarting a robbery attempt, according to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office. In a press release, the sheriff's office said on Thursday, June 13, at approximately 1:30 p.m., deputies with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Five Below store at 125 Tingle Drive in Salisbury in reference to a suspicious persons call. While in route, deputies were notified that there were two suspects outside the store, wearing hoodies that had the word "security" on them and that there was an armored truck nearby. Deputies were also notified that the armored truck driver was standing by inside the store.

Beware of gifts during election season
The Salisbury Post recently printed an article boasting the receipt of grants awarded to local groups from the Common Cause Education Fund to promote voter education. Mission House was given $25,000. Catawba College and Livingstone College were also given $20,000. In this current world of Bidenomics and increased costs, it sounds wonderful to receive grants to help educate people into becoming responsible citizens and encouraging them to vote.
