Man charged with strangling woman, not allowing her to leave home
SALISBURY — A man was arrested on Friday after deputies said that he strangled a woman before grabbing her and pulling her back into the home when she tried to escape. Deputies initially began investigating the incident after the victim of the assault drove to the Mooresville Police Department and attempted to report the domestic assault to officers there, said Chief Deputy Jason Owens, a spokesperson for the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. Those officers referred her to the sheriff’s office because the incident had allegedly occurred at a home in Rowan County.
