KENT—The Eric Sloane Museum, 31 Kent Cornwall Rd., will host a blacksmithing basics workshop Sunday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program will explore blacksmithing techniques and methods through a hands-on workshop. taught by blacksmithing expert Ian McCarthy. Tim Limbos hired as new fire marshal
KENT—The Fire Marshal Hiring Subcommittee interviewed Tim Limbos Tuesday, June 18 for the position of fire marshal that was recently vacated by Stan MacMillan. After a short executive session and a discussion with Limbos about the job, the committee, consisting of First Selectman Marty Lindenmayer, Selectman Lynn Mellis Worthington, and Building Inspector Joseph Manley, voted to recommend him for employment to the selectmen. He will be paid $40 an hour for the part-time position.

KENT—The Summer Reading program will come to an end for Teens and Tweens Monday, July 29, at 6 p.m., when Kent Memorial Library holds a Cupcake Decorating party. KENT—The St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, of which Sacred Heart Church is a part, is seeking knitters and crocheters to join in its Parish Prayer Shawl Ministry.
