MBTA seeks private developer to rebuild aging Alewife garage, surrounding acres
The MBTA hopes that a private developer will help it rebuild a key piece of Cambridge infrastructure on Arlington's border possibly by the end of the decade. The aging Alewife Station garage, which has already seen structural renovations, needs to come down. Without money in its budget to build a replacement garage, the MBTA is looking to partner with a private development firm to demolish the structure and build back while also developing the surrounding land that the transportation agency owns – more than 30 acres.

On July 29, former varsity golf player Katherine Sung ’24 was named an NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.
