Sioux City North rallies for 3 runs in 7th inning to earn split against Centennial
The Ankeny Centennial baseball team had to settle for a split on Saturday against visiting Sioux City North. After fifth-ranked Centennial posted a 5-0 victory in the opener of a non-conference doubleheader, the Stars rallied for three runs in the seventh inning to earn a 4-3 win in the second game that allowed them to avoid a sweep.

Alta Aurelia defeated conference rival GT-RA 12-2 in five innings in a 1A baseball district opener this (Sat) evening in Alta. The Warriors had 13 hits on the night. Gavin Sleezer had three hits and four RBI’s, and Sam Sennert had two hits and three RBI’s, including a two-RBI triple as part of a four-run 3rd. Alta Aurelia scored six runs in the 4th, including a two-RBI double from Gabe Olsen.

The Brown Family is from LeMars, Iowa and the award winning ensemble is going to perform a free show at the Greene County High School auditorium Sunday at 2pm.
