    ‘Full-time’ Ruidoso residents able to return Monday morning, officials say

    RUIDOSO, N.M.– The Village of Ruidoso is expected to allow residents to return on Monday, June 24, at 8:00 a.m.

    Ruidoso officials said re-entry will be for “LOCAL, FULL-TIME residents.” Tourists and second homeowners were asked to hold off to give residents time to get back to their properties and “survey any needs or damages.”

    The Village of Ruidoso asked residents to bring a week’s worth of food and drinking water because grocery stores are not operating at full capacity.

    “Due to the events of the past week, you may arrive to find that your home has no gas, electricity, or water,” officials said. A boil water advisory is in place.

    Residents who have breathing issues such as asthma and COPD cannot ” tolerate the ash, smoke, and soot that are in the air.”
