EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — Flooding has once again forced some people to evacuate in the Ruidoso area on Monday, July 29, the Village of Ruidoso said on its Facebook page.

The Ruidoso area is under a flash flood warning issued by the U.S. National Weather Service, the Village of Ruidoso said on its Facebook page.

The flash flooding warning is in effect until 4:45 p.m. Monday, July 29, the Village said.

Cherokee Mobile Village is currently being evacuated due to flooding, the Village said. The Gavilan Mobile Home Park has also been evacuated.

The Ruidoso and Mescalero Apache areas were hit by two major wildfires in June and then a series of flash flooding that raged through the burn scars.

The Village reminds residents that if you “encounter floodwaters, move to higher ground immediately.”

“Do not attempt to cross water flowing across a roadway. Turn around, don’t drown,” the Village said.
