Adams County Fairfest opening ceremonies
HASTINGS — The Adams County Fairfest opening ceremonies were held during the evening of Wednesday, July 15. The master of ceremonies for the event was Y102’s Lisa Williams. There were welcomes from the agricultural society delivered by Williams; Lee Hogan represented Adams County and Mayor Corey Stutte spoke for the City of Hastings.
Make-A-Wish Nebraska grants North Platte boy’s wish
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Make-A-Wish Nebraska granted the wish of North Platte’s Dylan Kring Wednesday afternoon. Kring, the outdoor-loving 9-year-old son of Greg and Michelle Kring, has been battling Batten Disease since August 2019. The rare recessive genetic disorder which causes cells to be unable to dispose of waste, leads to the eventual breakdown of sight, motor skills, and mobility.
Huskers to host St. Louis athlete at the end of the month
The Nebraska Cornhuskers will host a class of 2026 athlete on campus next month. Keenan Harris is scheduled to visit the Lincoln campus the weekend of July 26-28. Harris is a four-star prospect for Saint Louis University High in St. Louis, MO. Last season, he appeared in ten games, recording 95 total tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sack. He holds two dozen offers, including from Arkansas, Auburn, and Illinois. For 2026, the athlete is ranked the No. 4 player in the state of Missouri and the No. 104 overall prospect. Nebraska currently holds no commitments to its class of 2026 but has made a flurry of offers in recent weeks. As the 2025 recruiting cycle starts to wind down, the 2026 cycle is picking up steam. 2026 St. Louis (Mo.)
