Rain possible for some in East Texas this weekend. Hot and humid weather set to return next week.
East Texas (KLTV/KTRE) - Good morning, East Texas! We are off to another muggy start this morning. Skies are partly to mostly cloudy and will likely remain so through the day with only peaks of sunshine at times. Just like the past several days, showers and thunderstorms will be possible for your Saturday. Severe weather is not expected, but if you have any outdoor plans for today it is important to have an indoor back up plan in case the rain sticks around your location for longer than an hour or two. We are also tracking some patchy and fog this AM so please be careful on your drive this morning if you encounter lower visibilities. Scattered rain will be possible on Sunday as well, but likely with not as great coverage as what we have dealt with over the past few days. There will be plenty of folks who do not see a drop of rain tomorrow and will instead see frequent breaks in the cloud cover, periods of sunshine, and warmer temperatures. Our cooler and rainy days will soon come to an end for all next week once high-pressure builds back in over East Texas and the southern United States. Once skies stay dry, expect temperatures to soar back into the lower to middle 90 with heat index value easily at or over 100°.
