    Russellville plant announces $60 million expansion, new jobs

    RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – A Russellville plant is expanding and adding capacity that officials anticipate will lead to additional job openings.

    Taber Extrusions said in a Tuesday news release that it is adding what will be one of the largest direct presses in North America in a $60 million expansion. The 10,000-ton press will go live in 2026 and will add 70 new jobs at the company’s Russellville location.

    Taber president Chuck Stout said the expansion reflects the company’s commitment to service.

    “We are excited for this expansion as it provides the capability and capacity needed in the large shape extrusion market,” Stout said. “This investment highlights our commitment to continue to serve our national defense, aerospace, and large industrial market partners.”

    Taber Extrusions has been in business in the Russellville area for 50 years. The company pioneered a process for extruding rectangular billet, enabling it to extrude solid profiles for large-scale projects. According to its website , the company has customers in military & defense, guns & archery, aircraft & aerospace, naval marine, transportation and architectural industries.

    Taber representatives, joined by Arkansas government representatives including Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, announced the expansion at the 20204 Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom.

    Arkansas Economic Development Commission executive director Clint O’Neal said it was an honor to participate with Taber.

    “It’s an honor to join Taber Extrusions at the Farnborough International Airshow to announce its latest expansion in Russellville Arkansas,” O’Neal said. “Taber Extrusions has operated in Arkansas since 1976, and we look forward to many more years of business success for them.”

    O’Neal also congratulated Russellville on its economic development win.

    Pope County Judge Ben Cross was pleased about job growth in the county.

    “Taber Extrusions has been a steadfast partner, employer, and manufacturer in our community for half a century,” Cross said. “As one of the bedrock fabricators of some of the world’s most premier aluminum products, this investment in our county will ensure good quality jobs and local growth in this sector, keeping ‘Made in America’ at the forefront of their commitment to excellence.”

    Cross also thanks the Arkansas Economic Development Commission and the Russellville Regional Alliance for Economic Development for their contributions to growing the county’s business base.
