Missing Kentucky 2-year-old flown to Tennessee after being found dies

LEXINGTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A 2-year-old girl who was found unresponsive in a small body of water Wednesday has died.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office said the unnamed child passed away Wednesday evening.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing with help from Child Protective Services.

A toddler is fighting for her life after being found unresponsive in southern Kentucky.

Around 11 a.m., the Logan County Sheriff’s Office learned about a missing 2-year-old girl who had wandered away from her home in Russellville.

While searching through some nearby cornfields, emergency responders found the child in a small body of water.

She was stabilized and flown to a Tennessee hospital in critical condition.

No names have been released. Authorities are asking for privacy and prayers for those involved.
