Vandy Baseball Adds Two New Assistant Coaches
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Head coach Tim Corbin announced Wednesday the addition of assistant coaches Jayson King and Ty Blankmeyer. King comes to Vanderbilt after seven seasons as head coach at Dayton. King has 27 years of head coaching experience with 840 career victories including 165 with the Flyers. Prior to Dayton, King was the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Army for the 2017 season after spending the previous 18 seasons as head coach at NCAA Division II Franklin Pierce.

Cheekwood Opens New Art Exhibition Featuring International Sculptor Ann Carrington

New 2024-25 Fiscal Year Budget Goes into Effect, Along with New Water, Sewer Rates
The City of La Vergne Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the 2024-2025 fiscal year budget during the board meeting on June 4. As a part of the budget, a water and sewer rate increase was approved. Water and sewer rates in La Vergne haven’t been increased since 2016 and rates were actually lowered in 2017 and in 2018. With inflation and increased costs over the last few years, the City has experienced a large increase in the production and distribution of water as well as collecting the sewer that goes to Metro Nashville for treatment. The new rates went into effect on July 1, 2024.
Registration Opens for 2024 Top Gun Night Run
Registration is open for the 2024 Top Gun Night Run!. The race will be held Friday, September 13, 7:30pm, in Lee Victory Recreation Park. The 3.7 mile course includes Smyrna/Rutherford County Airport and Smyrna golf course, with the finish line at the Captain Jeff Kuss USMC Memorial. Spectators and runners will enjoy live music and food in the park. This run will be chip-timed, USATF certified, and limited to 650 participants.
