The NCHSAA 2A Baseball State Championship is heading to Greene Central (28-2) and Snow Hill, N.C. after the Rams took down the defending state champions the Burns Bulldogs (32-2) Saturday morning at Burlington Athletic Stadium. A fast start on offense helped control the game early for the Rams as they took down the Bulldogs 8-5.
Man in hospice care gets special graduation ceremony for his daughter
VIA Health Partners, founded as Hospice Cleveland County, recently made one patient’s wish to see his daughtergraduate from Kings Mountain High School come true. Christopher Helms, a Kings Mountain resident, is a patient at Testa Family Hospice House. He wanted to see his daughter graduate but due to his terminal illness, was not able to attend in person. His Care Teamwas also afraid he might not have enough time.

Traffic stop leads to discovery of multiple narcotics; man facing 8 felony charges
MARION, N.C. (WLOS) — A man faces three misdemeanor and eight felony charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of narcotics on May 19, 2024. The Marion Police Department initially responded to the intersection of West Henderson Street and South Main Street due to a man being slumped over in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. Mathew James Lewis, 34, was found to be “under the influence of an impairing substance,” according to a release from the Marion Police Department.
