Heaven’s Helpers’ Closet 701 starts back-to-school shoe drive
BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Closet 701 on the corner of 23rd and Broadway is helping children start the school year off on the right foot. Monday, it launched its new back-to-school shoe program. Those who would otherwise have trouble clothing their kids can come in between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to pick out a pair of free tennis shoes for their child.

MONDAY EVENING - TUESDAY: A much-welcomed break from the sizzling temperatures and high humidity has returned for today. In fact, temperatures across the region today have been a bit below average for this time of the year in the 70s to near 80. There have been just a few clouds, but plenty of sunshine. We are continuing to watch out for some wildfire haze aloft, but not much has impacted the area. The north-northwest breeze that we have had today will decrease towards sunset. Overnight, a few more clouds move through and bring just a slight chance of showers. By morning, the best chance for rain will be in southeastern ND. Morning temperatures will be in the 50s to near 60. Through the afternoon Tuesday we can expect a few passing clouds and an isolated shower or two. Highs will warm into the 70s to near 80.
Tornado in Richland County rated as an EF-1
RICHALND COUNTY, N.D. (Valley News Live) - The National Weather Service says a tornado that touched down on Saturday, July 13, is rated as an EF-1. The damage survey says the tornado touched down in a rural area north of Barney and Mooreton, North Dakota. No structures were damaged. The storm traveled over cropland and gravel roads and the National Weather Service says a tree was snapped north of Mooreton.
