Hawkeyes Earn AVCA Team Academic Award
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa volleyball program earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced on Wednesday. The Hawkeyes have been recognized for this honor twice, previously in 2014. To obtain the honor, the team must maintain a year-long GPA of at least 3.30. The Hawkeyes held a 3.52 GPA throughout the year. A record number of schools earned the award this season, with over 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball programs showcasing their excellence in the classroom. (Photo by Seth Boyes) Decorah’s Dan Hovden has been racing for 16 years, and the 31-year-old is already on his way to winning his first national title this year. Hovden won the B-Mod main event July 9, during the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series event at the Winneshiek Raceway in Decorah. The race marked his 175th career win, and three days later, he earned his 176th win when he took the checkered flag in West Union.
Iowa women's wrestling adds two premium transfers
This time one week ago the Iowa Hawkeye women’s wrestling program was already in what one would have to consider to be a pretty darn good spot entering the 2024-25 season. Fresh off their first team National Championship – in their first official year of competition no less – the Hawkeyes were looking to defend their title with a roster that returned 10 All-Americans, seven of whom were 2024 national finalists (including four individual champions).

New Venue For Dubuque Arts Council Summer Concerts Announced
