Kingston man accused of kidnapping, attempted strangulation
CARTER COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - A Kingston man is in the Carter County Jail, accused of kidnapping and trying to strangle a woman last week. According to court records, Jack Canada, 44, held the woman in a home against her will and attempted to strangle her. Court records also show he assaulted another man by repeatedly punching him in the face.

Tulsa Hematologist Only Oklahoman To Receive Cancer Treatment Award
A Tulsa hematologist is the only doctor in the state to have been selected for a prestigious award in the cancer world. Dr. Caleb Scheckel works at Ok Cancer Specialists and Research Institute and he has been to receive this year’s esteemed 40 Under 40 in Cancer award. Dr. Scheckel took a few minutes to speak to News On 6 about this honor and the work being done in Oklahoma to diagnose and treat cancer.
Lawton nonprofits say upcoming anti-camping ordinance will add more strain on scarce resources
LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - Officials with nonprofits like United Way and Family Promise said an anti-camping ordinance could send organizations like theirs over the edge. “Unfortunately in Lawton, all of the non-profit services are always on the brink of not having enough. We need the same kind of funding a regular business would need,” said Sarah Svec, the Executive Director of Family Promise. “We do not have enough low-income housing. We do not have enough funding to help prevent people from becoming homeless.”
Box truck rolls over on I-35, shuts down interstate
LOVE COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) - Traffic was brought to a crawl after a crash in Love County Monday afternoon. The crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-35, near Marietta. Love County firefighters said a box truck rolled over, forcing them to close all lanes of traffic while they worked the crash.

BARNSDALL, Okla. — The town of Barnsdall is devastated after learning its largest employer, NuCera Solutions, will close for good after being hit by the EF4 tornado back in May. On Tuesday, the company sent letters to employees letting them know they'll phase out operations over the next year.

Blake Shelton delivered a pop-up performance at his bar in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, and he shared the stage with stepson Zuma Rossdale, 15. UPDATE: Power Restored in Bartlesville
UPDATE: As of 1 p.m. Tuesday, PSO is reporting power has been restored to most customers impacted by the outage. The traffic light at Adams Boulevard and Silver Lake Road is still out, as is electric service to some of the businesses in the area. We're told this was a planned outage as crews are working on the transmission line behind Lee Lake Park.
Oklahoman ties strong in Western Amateur
The Western Amateur, one of the most grueling tests of amateur golf, is under way at Moraine Country Club in Dayton, Ohio, and it has a decided Oklahoma flavor. Among the contestants are Parker Sands of Edmond, Will Sides of Tulsa, Ryder Cowan of Edmond and Drew Goodman of Norman. Business Facing Tax Lien Says It Isn’t Alias of Indebted Company
A husband and wife are fighting a tax lien from the IRS they allege was wrongly transferred from one of their parents’ business. Steve and Amber Hacker’s Tulsa, Okla., daycare business, Hacker Industries LLC, has been assessed $1.1 million in tax liens by the IRS, which determined it was an alias of Blossom Day CRE Centers Inc., a business owned by Steve’s parents. The connection between the two companies is wrong, they told the US District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma in a Monday complaint.
