Ross and Squibb announced on Wednesday that the the Luxco-owned whiskey distillery is elevating its Remus Straight Bourbon Whiskey and Rossville Union Straight Rye Whiskey Single Barrel programs for 2024. Some of the enhancements include custom tasting kits, guided tasting experiences from Master Distiller Ian Stirsman and in-person distillery visits.
"We've set aside some outstanding barrels for our Remus and Rossville Single Barrel selections, each with a distinctive profile," Stirsman said. "For those customers who are interested in coming to the distillery, I'm looking forward to personally showing them around and helping them pick out a barrel they will love."
Those interested in visiting the distillery for the private barrel selection program must make a reservation ahead of time, as Ross and Squibb is not open to the public. The experience includes a tour and private sampling. If a trek to the distillery is not in the cards for those interested in the barrel selection program, Ross and Squibb can send a custom selection kit encased in wood with three samples for customers to taste on their own time. 2024 Remus Straight Bourbon Whiskey Single Barrel Selection
Ross and Squibb says the 2024 Remus Straight Bourbon Whiskey Single Barrel offerings are perfect for bourbon fans. This year, the brand chose barrels aged between 4 and 5 years and is offering customers the opportunity to choose bourbons with three different mashbills:
- 51% corn, 39% rye and 10% malted rye
- 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley
- 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley
The whiskeys can be bottled at either 108.5, 115.2 or 118.1 proof, and a barrel produces 30 6-inch cases of 750-milliliter bottles. The bottles can be sold for a suggested retail price of $59.99.
2024 Rossville Union Rye Single Barrel Selections
Rye whiskey is definitely one of Ross and Squibb's calling cards, and the barrels chosen for the 2024 selection program range from 4 to 5 years of age. Patrons can choose rye whiskeys from mashbills of
- 95% rye and 5% barley
- 51% rye and 49% barley or 51% rye
- 45% corn and 4% barley.
The whiskeys can be bottled at proofs of 108.2, 115.1 and 117.9. The barrels produce 30 6-inch cases of 700-milliliter bottles, and the brand shared the bottles host a suggested retail price of $59.99. [botmc-promo]
