Asian Art Nite: Showcasing Local Artists & Community

There was a free public event held in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday, August 17, 2024. It was highlighting fourteen emerging local Asian American Artists along with two community organizations, The Salt Lake Eastern Art Club and SLC Next Gen JA. The event was made possible by the Salt Lake City Arts Council.

The event was held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. There were free art activities for kids from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Calligraphy was with The Salt Lake Eastern Art Club, and Origami was with SLC Next Gen JA.

There was also Block Painting and an Artists Market and Gallery. Free limited edition riso prints or stickers were given out to the first 100 attendees.

The event was named Asian Art 'Nite' after another little event Asian Nite from 1978. That one is known today as the Utah Asian Festival, which has become a major event in Utah.
