    September Will Be a Month To Celebrate DC's Creative Community

    Washington, D.C. will be honoring and celebrating its Creative community during a month long celebration. They will have a Series of Events, including Concerts, Galas, Film Festivals, Art and Cultural Events, and Festivals during the month of September 2024.

    Mayor Muriel Bowser and other leaders kicked off 202Creates on August 29, 2024. It is an event which was started in September 2016 to amplify, celebrate, and highlight local artists and creatives through a wide arrange of event which are held across all eight wards of the District of Colunbia.

    Leading the annual celebration is the Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME), the Creative Affairs Office, and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development.

    Mayor Bowser said: “Washington, DC is a vibrant creative epicenter, from performing and visual arts to film and fashion, culinary arts, theater, and more. September is our opportunity to shine a spotlight on the artists who contribute so much to our city. By bringing people together through concerts, festivals, fashion, and more, our creative community brings so much energy and excitement into our city and that energy is fueling our comeback.” [from the website below]

    The City will be hosting a variety of events throughout September, including Art All Night, the DC JazzFest, the H Street Festival, and Fashion Week. More events are listed at the website.
