SAC COUNTY, Iowa — One person was found dead after emergency crews pulled a vehicle from a river in Sac County Friday morning.

At around 10:18 a.m. the Sac County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle in the North Raccoon River at Hagge Park, south of Sac City. When first responders arrived on scene they found a 2003 Jeep Cherokee overturned in the river. A tow truck was able to remove the Jeep from the water.

The sheriff’s office said a 30-year-old female was found dead inside of the Jeep. The female has been identified as Samantha Faylee Trimpe of Breda. Her body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine her manner and cause of death.

According to the sheriff’s office, there is no indication of foul play. Evidence at the scene, including tire patterns from the Jeep, don’t indicate any sudden braking or direction changes before the vehicle went into the river, the sheriff’s office said.
