According to KTIV, Edwin Diaz, 34 from Sac County, Iowa got in big trouble with the federal authorities for being involved in drugs. He lived in Odebolt, Iowa. Edwin Diaz was found guilty of having methamphetamine to sell and having a gun he wasn’t supposed to have. The United States Attorney’s Office said Diaz had a history of doing bad things like stealing, breaking into places, and having illegal drugs so he couldn’t legally have a gun. On December 31, 2022 a police officer found a car parked in a strange way. Edwin Diaz and someone else were inside. When they looked in the car they found a big bag of methamphetamine and some marijuana. It turned out Edwin Diaz and his girlfriend made the other person in the car say the drugs were theirs not Diaz’s. Later when they searched Diaz’s home they found a note some handcuffs and a gun with bullets in it. Because of what he did Edwin Diaz has to spend about 15 years in federal prison. After that he’ll have to be watched for four more years. Right now he’s with the United States Marshals Service waiting to go to prison. This big punishment shows how serious his crimes were and should make others think twice about doing the same.
