Bike Dog Brewing to Open East Sacramento Taproom in the Summer

Dogs, bikes, and cold beer? Sounds like a delightful summer plan. Bike Dog Brewing , a brewing company based in West Sacramento, is working on opening its first East Sacramento taproom. The news was first shared in a newsletter to the brewery’s subscribers, as reported by The Sacramento Bee .

What Now Sacramento reached out to the brewery’s co-founder Sage Smith and received confirmation on the future taproom’s location and an anticipated opening timeframe. As one brewery leaves, another joins: turns out Bike Dog will take over the space located at 66th and Folsom , “the space Highwater Brewing recently departed,” according to Smith. The company hopes to open by Summer 2024.

Bike Dog Brewing was founded over ten years ago and opened its flagship location on Industrial Boulevard in West Sacramento. In 2017, the company opened a second taproom at 915 Broadway. The East Sacramento location will be the brewery’s third taproom.

The space that will soon become the new Bike Dog Brewing once belonged to High Water Brewing, a Lodi-based brewery. Highwater opened its West Sacramento taproom in the fall of 2022, and closed its doors before 2024 arrived. Prior to High Water, the same space was occupied by another brewery called Tower Brewing Company.

With brewing equipment turning from tenant to tenant, the space makes the transition between breweries slightly less challenging. However, Bike Dog Brewing’s East Sacramento taproom’s exact opening date might fluctuate. The new taproom will have a dog-friendly outdoor space for human and furry visitors to gather and hang.
