LGBTQ-friendly Nightclub Owner to Open New Restaurant and Bar

The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) indicates a pending license for a new restaurant and bar called Bojangles at 2107 L Street . According to Sacramento Business Journal , who first reported this news, the space is anticipated to be ready some time in 2025.

The approximately 2,200-square-foot space at 2107 L Street was previously occupied by Costanza’s, a contemporary sports bar that filed for bankruptcy two years ago. Many may also remember the space as the longtime of The Distillery, which occupied the building for 55 years until its closure in 2017.

The property and an adjacent building was purchased by Sidie Investment, LLC , and will be operated by brothers and business partners Terry and Arden Sidie . Terry Sidie is an icon in the LGBTQ world and the owner of the popular gay nightclub Faces , which has been operating for the past 29 years since it opened in 1985. Sidie was often amicably referred to as “Emperor Terry Sidie” since he served as Emperor 13 and Emperor 37 for CGNIE, Inc. Arden Sidie is a seasoned real estate industry veteran.

The upcoming Bojangles is a tribute to the first bar with the same name, which Sidie opened while he was still in the Air Force. However, the new Bojangles will be a full-scale restaurant and bar, instead of another club. According to the Business Journal, the brothers plan on expanding the restaurant and bar into the adjacent building, increasing the total square footage to approximately 5,400, and are currently conversing with the city on the best approach.

What Now Sacramento reached out to the owners but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
