(FOX40.COM) — Caltrans is informing drivers of various upcoming highway lane reductions and ramp closures in the Sacramento area due to ongoing projects.

The first round of lane reductions will take place from June 28 (Friday) to July 1 (Monday) for the “Sac-5 Garden Highway Pavement Project,” which will take place around northbound Interstate 5 at the Interstate 80 interchange from 8 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday.

Here is a list of the closures that will be in effect for this project:

    • Northbound I-5 to westbound I-80 connector
    • Eastbound 80 to northbound I-5 connector
    • Closures will be in effect on Friday, June 28, from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. the next day, from 10 p.m. on Saturday to 10 a.m. the next day, and from 10 p.m. on Sunday to 5 a.m. on Monday

A detour from northbound I-5 to westbound I-80 will be in place due to the closures. Drivers will need to take the eastbound I-80 connector, stay in the right lane, and exit I-80 at Truxel Road. Drivers can then take a left onto Truxel Road, move to the right lane, and take the onramp to westbound I-80.

For drivers wanting to get from the eastbound I-80 to northbound I-5, stay on the eastbound I-80 and exit at Truxel Road. Then, make a left onto Truxel Road, move to the right lane, and take the onramp to westbound I-80.

Another project, which is taking place along the southbound I-5 at the Garden Highway, will cause the roadway to be reduced to two lanes during the daytime beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday and concluding around 5 a.m. on Monday.

Additionally, drivers in Yolo County will have to deal with lane reductions as Caltrans works to complete the “Yolo Interstate 80 Pavement Rehabilitation Project,” which seeks to repair the roadway surface on I-80 and Highway 50 in Yolo County.

Here are where the lane reductions will be in effect for this project:

    • Eastbound lanes on I-80 at Chiles Road and eastbound U.S. Highway 50 at Harbor Boulevard to Jefferson Boulevard will be reduced to one or two lanes for concrete barrier removal, replacement, and lane striping from 11:30 p.m. Friday, June 28 at 7 a.m. until 7 a.m. Saturday .
    • East Chiles Road to eastbound I-80 will be closed from 11:30 p.m. Friday, June 28 to 7 a.m. Saturday.

Finally, the transportation agency reminds drivers in Marysville that Highway 70 remains closed in downtown Marysville due to the fire that damaged the former Hotel Marysville earlier in June.

The roadway is closed in both directions between 3rd and 6th streets. Drivers traveling between Sacramento and Chico are advised to use Highway 99.
