    Is Costco closed for Fourth of July? Raley’s? See which Sacramento stores are open on holiday

    Thursday is Independence Day, which means some Sacramento-area businesses will be taking the day off in observation of the holiday.

    If you need last-minute groceries or party supplies, however, several stores will remain open for the Fourth of July.

    Here’s a list of key local businesses and whether they’ll be open or closed on Thursday.

    Hours may vary by location, so be sure to check with each business before heading out.

    Which grocery stores are open in Sacramento for Fourth of July?

    The Sacramento area is home to several grocery stores, supermarkets and retailers. Here’s which major chains are open Thursday for the holiday:

    Costco: Closed

    Sam’s Club: Open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Plus members and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Club members.

    Walmart: Open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

    Target: Open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

    Trader Joe’s: Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Raley’s: Open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

    Sprouts: Open 7 a.m to 10 p.m.

    Safeway: Open 5 a.m. to 2 a.m.

    Winco: Open from 6 a.m. to midnight

    Whole Foods: Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    What about malls?

    Two Sacramento-area malls are open for Fourth of July shopping on Thursday. They are:

    Arden Fair Mall: Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    Westfield Galleria at Roseville: Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    Are pharmacies and discount stores open on Independence Day?

    Although most drug stores, pharmacies and discount stores are open on Thursday, there are some closures. Here’s a partial list:

    CVS: Open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

    Rite Aid: Open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

    Walgreens: Closed

    Dollar General: Open from 8 a.m to 8 p.m.

    What’s closed in Sacramento for July 4?

    Several government offices, including post offices and public libraries, and most banks are closed on Thursday for Independence Day. They include:

    Bank of America: Closed

    Chase Bank: Closed

    Wells Fargo: Closed

    California Department of Motor Vehicles: Closed

    U.S. Postal Service: Closed and there will be no regular mail deliveries. Retail, delivery and collections will continue on Friday.
