NBA Insider Makes Major Announcement About Top NBA Free Agent

The Sacramento Kings have won the DeMar DeRozan sweepstakes. According to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic, DeRozan, an unrestricted free agent, has agreed to sign with the Kings.

After the likes of Paul George and Klay Thompson signed big-money deals with their new teams, DeRozan emerged as arguably the biggest name still available on the free agency market. Well, all of this changed on Saturday after the Kings succeeded in their chase to sign the six-time All-Star.

In the process, Sacramento has outbid teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat in their pursuit of the 6-foot-6 swingman.

This is a massive win for the Kings, who will now incorporate DeRozan into their roster along with fellow All-Stars De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

In a subsequent report, ESPN's NBA guru Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that this will be a sign-and-trade deal that also involves the San Antonio Spurs.

DeRozan's new deal is said to be worth $70 million for three years.

DeRozan parts ways with Chicago after three seasons with the team. During that span, he averaged 25.5 points on 49.6 percent shooting, 4.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
