(FOX40.COM) — One person was arrested in connection with an armed robbery at Del Campo High School, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 1 p.m. on July 9, SCSO said it responded to Del Campo High for a report of a student being robbed at gunpoint by another student during summer school. Del Campo High School and nearby Will Rogers Middle School were placed on lockdown, as the suspect’s whereabouts were unknown.

Detectives said they “learned that the suspect approached the victim from behind in
the restroom, brandished a handgun, and stole the victim’s necklace.” Afterward, the suspect fled on foot, according to SCSO.

Del Campo High School’s administrative office and the sheriff’s office identified the suspect as a 15-year-old freshman who attended the school. He was arrested on July 11 and booked into the
    Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility.
