Man drowns in Lake Marion after falling off inflatable device; another rescued
LAKEVILLE, Minn. — One man drowned and another was rescued from the water in a southern Twin Cities suburb over the weekend, authorities said.The Dakota County Sheriff's Office said its deptuies, along with the Lakeville police and fire departments, responded to Lake Marion at Antlers Park around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses reported a potential drowning after seeing a wave from a nearby boat knock two men off an inflatable device.A bystander jumped into the water and saved a 19-year-old man, the sheriff's office said, but the other man went underwater and did not resurface.Around 8 p.m., a dive team found that man dead, 40 yards offshore in 8 feet of water. The sheriff's office identified him as 26-year-old Reynaldo Antonio Patishtan Hernandez of Northfield."We thank and commend the bystander for his heroic, lifesaving efforts of the 19-year-old and extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Patishtan Hernandez," the sheriff's office said.

Rosemount, Kasson-Mantorville, Pine Island, and La Crescent were the 4 core members of the league in its first year. Each team hosted a weekend of games over the summer. Suspects in attack on Olivia man in court Tuesday
(Willmar MN-) The three suspects in the June 28th attack on an Olivia man have court appearances this morning in Meeker County District Court. 20-year-old Aryianna Pillatzki of Pennock, 48-year-old David Pillatzki and 26-year-old Tre Ertl, both of Litchfield, are accused of robbing and beating Galen Serbus south of Litchfield after allegedly telling him they had a camper to sell. Court records say after taking the victim's backpack containing $23,000 in cash, they hit him with a car then beat and stabbed him. Charges against the suspects include attempted homicide, robbery and assault. Unconditional bail for Ertl is 4 million dollars, 2 million for David and Aryianna Pillatzki. The three have a Rule 8/Initial apperance scheduled for 10 a.m..

The Job Seeker Market in the St. Cloud Area Could Be Changing
It is still more of a job seeker market in St. Cloud but that trend is starting to change for the first time since the pandemic. Local Printing Facility for Brainerd Dispatch to Close
The Brainerd Dispatch newspaper is closing its printing facility in Brainerd, which will result in the layoffs of 21 people. In an article posted on their website today, the Dispatch said the printing operation will move to a sister plant in Detroit Lakes by September 30th. 21 employees working in prepress, inserting, and in the press room will be laid off.

Forest Lake: Construction starts on airport taxiway expansion
Construction started Monday at the Forest Lake Airport, where crews are extending the airport’s taxiway and building taxilane extensions. The $721,789 project, scheduled to be completed on Aug. 16, will connect the airport’s south hangar area directly to parallel Taxiway A, said City Administrator Kristina Handt. That will help “ease congestion around the existing singular access point to Taxiway A and Runway 13/31,” she said.
