SAINT ALBANS, WV (WOWK) — Police officers in St. Albans teamed up with the American Red Cross for a much-needed blood drive Tuesday afternoon.

The St. Albans Police Department hosted the drive at police headquarters.

“I like the events like this. It does help us show our human side a little bit. Sometimes, people just see us as longing for us. So by us being able to do this, they can be at the police station and be around us. And, I do think it helps build relationships with the community,” said Captain Phillip Bass, St. Albans Police Department.

The Red Cross said they’re always looking for blood donors as every little bit can save someone’s life.
