Kanawha Board of Education transfers ownership of Marmet Elementary School
The Kanawha County Board of Education on Monday voted to give the 87-year-old Marmet Elementary School to the town of Marmet for free. The decision comes as Marmet Elementary is set to be consolidated into nearby schools starting in the next school year. It’s one of three Kanawha County schools that closed this past school year.

Charleston Ballet to conduct 'Nutcracker' auditions
The Charleston Ballet will have auditions for its upcoming, traditional, holiday production of "The Nutcracker" ballet, featuring the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
