Weavers' open house looming in Charleston
High above the Kanawha Turnpike on Clifton Road sits the old Vandalia schoolhouse, which has been home to the Lucy Quarrier Weavers since 2017. From 2 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, the public can visit and view various projects on some of the 19 looms that are housed there. They will also be able to learn more about weaving and the importance of heddles, raddles and warping boards. For a new weaver, there is a whole new language to learn.
