Columbia – Friday night’s contest between reigning state champions (SCISA AAAA) Hammond and (Class A) Christ Church Episcopal school had the makings of a clash of titans but the homestanding Skyhawks took control from the opening kickoff and never looked back beating the Cavaliers 56-28.
4-star South Carolina football target announces college commitment
So far in the class of 2025, the South Carolina football program has one commitment on the offensive line. 4-star in-state prospect Shed Sarratt (a product of Gaffney High School in the Upstate) pledged his services to the Gamecocks early this summer, but as of now, there have been no other offensive linemen to join him in the class. Class of 2026 offensive line recruit Anthony Baxter is committed, however.

September 20th is announced as the day Freddie Eugene Owens will be put to death for killing a Greenville store clerk in 1997.
