One person flown to the hospital after Charles City auto accident
CHARLES CITY, Iowa – One person was flown to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning. Charles City Fire Rescue says it was called to the accident south of town around 5:15 am and arrived to find two cars with significant damage. One person was already receiving medical treatment by AMR Ambulance Service. A second person had to be removed from a vehicle using hydraulic spreaders and cutters.

4th annual Kid's Shoe Drive underway by United Way of North Central Iowa
MASON CITY, Iowa – The United Way of North Central Iowa is kicking off its 4th annual Kid’s Shoe Drive. New and slightly worn athletic shoes for kindergarteners through high schoolers can be dropped off at several locations in Mason City, Forest City, and Charles City through July 24. Monetary donations can also be made to United Way to purchase shoes for kids.
