Second COP House Planned for St. Cloud’s Southeast Side
ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- The plan to create St. Cloud's second Community Outpost is moving forward. On Monday night the city council is expected to approve a renovation agreement for the city-owned building at 10-10 Park in southeast St. Cloud. The city has received a $475,000 grant from the United States Department of Justice.

Man jumps to his death from St. Cloud bridge
(St. Cloud MN-) The Stearns County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a man who jumped off The Veteran's Bridge over the Mississippi River in St. Cloud. At noon last Friday the St. Cloud Police Department, St. Cloud Fire Department, and Stearns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of the Veterans Bridge over the Mississippi River after receiving information an individual jumped off the bridge into the river. A St. Cloud Police Officer arrived and confirmed someone was floating south on the surface of the water before losing sight of the person. The Stearns County Sonar Team responded to the area to conduct a water search and they were able to spot a possible body around 3:22 p.m. The Stearns/Benton Dive Team located a deceased male in the river in approximately 14 feet of water. The male was later identified by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office as 56-year-old Douglas Ingram of Faribault.
Victim Succumbs to Injuries After Stolen Truck From St. Cloud Leads to Multiple-Car Collision in Becker
(KNSI) – A man seriously injured after a truck reported stolen from St. Cloud caused a multiple-car crash in Becker has died. Investigators say on July 6th, around 3:15 Saturday afternoon, a Sherburne County Sheriff’s Deputy was trying to stop the driver of a Dodge Ram when the suspect crashed into two vehicles at the intersection of Highway 10 and Liberty Lane. The suspect then drove off the road to the right and hit a Subaru Outback that was in a gas station parking lot.

ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- The St. Cloud City Council will discuss the future on the Stearns County Justice Center during its meeting on Monday night. Council member George Hontos has asked for a discussion on a resolution stating the city council's support for keeping the jail and court services downtown.

Baseball: Former St. Cloud State Pitcher Ethan Lanthier was selected in the MLB Draft on Tuesday. The New York Mets selected the former Husky in the 12th round of the draft. Lanthier spent two seasons with SCSU (2022-23) and earned an All-NSIC first team nod in his first season. He pitched over 68 innings during his time for the Huskies, sporting a 3.67 ERA. Lanthier transferred up to division one baseball last season, pitching for the Kansas Jayhawks.
Community Strings Orchestra to play summer concert
MONTICELLO — The Monticello Community Strings Orchestra will be performing its 23rd Annual Summer Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 25 at the Monticello High School Auditorium, located at 5225 School Boulevard. With members that range from 11 to 69 years old, two different community groups — the concert orchestra and symphony orchestra — will be performing a wide variety of musical selections. This summer, the Monticello Community Strings Orchestra will be led under the direction of Michelle Schettler-Stein and Rachel Vannett. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Central MN Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- The Stearns County Sheriff's Office at the St. Cloud Police Department are asking for your help in finding a missing teenager. Sixteen-year-old Grisedia Gomez was last seen in St. Cloud on May 25th. She is a Hispanic girl, 5'4" tall, 200 pounds, with black hair, and brown eyes, and her front teeth are framed in gold.

Man Witnessed Cutting Copper Pipes and Wiring in St. Cloud
The St. Cloud Police Department are reporting a burglary on the 400 block of 1st Avenue South. Alicia Mages from Tri-County Crime Stoppers says a witness interrupted a bearded white male inside a vacant building cutting copper pipes and wiring. She says the suspect fled the scene before police arrived. The suspect was further described as wearing a blue shirt with dark colored shorts and left the area in a maroon car.
