Blankets and Support Kits Donated By Area Businesses To Coborn Cancer Center
(KNSI) – Two area businesses teamed with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to support patients at the Coborn Cancer Center. St. Cloud Subaru and Used Car Outlet delivered 80 blankets and 30 patient care kits to the facility, packed with luxury items like colored pencils and coloring books, socks, stress balls, tissues and a water bottle.
Traffic disrupted but no injuries reported after BNSF freight train derails near Big Lake, Minn.
A train derailment near Big Lake is disrupting traffic and slowing the train company's main line Saturday. According to the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office, the BNSF train was carrying consumer goods when it derailed around 3:15 a.m. At least 15 rail cars were involved, blocking the crossing at 172nd Street NW. between 197th Avenue and County Rd. 14.

Colonel (Ret) Karl Lyle Colonel passed away June 4th, 2024 (91) at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. Karl was born June 2, 1933 in Holdingford, MN. Karl left this heavenly earth leaving behind his loving wife of 66 years, Phronie Marie; a son, Mike (Coon Rapids, MN); a daughter, Margaret (Neil) Peterson (Rice Lake, WI); 5 grandchildren, Ali, Dj McFarland, Kate, Joe (Shaylma), Nicole Klasen, brothers, Joe and Owen, sister, Ellen Wahlstrom. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Kathryn; sisters, Pat and Mary. Please join us for Karl's celebration of life service at Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel, 1 Tower Avenue, Minneapolis, MN. 55450. Visitation from 11am to 12pm and his Memorial Service 12pm to 1pm.
