Baseball season ends at Gopher Classic Tournament of Champions
The Thunder was eliminated in the group stage and finished the season with a record of 22-2 The Zimmerman 12UAA baseball team’s impressive 2024 season ended on Saturday, July 13, at the 20th annual Gopher Classic Tournament of Champions. This annual tournament began in 2005 as a showcase for the top youth baseball teams in Minnesota. The Thunder finished the season with a record of 22-2. Zimmerman lost the first game of the Gopher Classic to White Bear Lake 15-12 on Friday, July 12, at Pinecone Park in Sartell. The Thunder lost 8-7 to Monticello Red on Friday, July 12, but rebounded and defeated Lake Elmo 8-2 in its final group stage game. Zimmerman won 21 straight games before losing to White Bear Lake. The future looks bright for Zimmerman youth baseball and possibly even Zimmerman High School baseball.

Tyler Jay Paul, 36, Holdingford, was charged in Morrison County District Court with one felony count of motor vehicle theft, one gross misdemeanor count of third-degree DWI and one misdemeanor count of fourth-degree DWI.
