Wellsville Balloon Rally ready to soar thanks to Stitched Ink

The Great Wellsville Balloon Rally is a free event at Island Park the third weekend each July since 1975. The 2024 event launches are Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in Wellsville and Saturday and Sunday at 6:30 a.m. in Wellsville.

Frederick E. “Fred” Dannheim, 86, Wellsville
Frederick E. “Fred” Dannheim, 86, was called home on Wednesday (July 10, 2024) at Wellsville Manor Care in Wellsville following a lengthy illness. Mr. Dannheim was born on November 19, 1938 in Wellsville to Edward and Beatrice (Ellsworth) Dannheim. He was the stepson of Walter Babbit. Fred was a 1959 graduate of Wellsville Central School. He served in the United States Army for four years before joining the United States Air Force for an additional four years. Later, he served in the United States Army Reserves where he retired after 24 years. While serving in the reserves, Fred also worked at Dresser Rand as a tool dresser, retiring after more than 40 years. On July 4, 1973, he married the love of his life, Sally “Sara” Anne Reisman Case, who survives.

Whitcomb of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of Christopher T. Cline, 42, of Olean, New York, on July 9, 2024. The arrest took place at 4:15 PM at 269 Main St. in Randolph, NY.

LITTLE VALLEY — Advance-sale tickets for the 181st Cattaraugus County Fair went on sale Wednesday at outlets across the county and beyond. The county fair is scheduled for July 27 through Aug. 3 with two country music grandstand performances — Tyler Hubbard will perform at Tuesday night’s concert while Cooper Allan and Brett Kissel are Wednesday night’s performers.
