ST. CLAIR — With no major delays, rain clouds or, for the most part, freighters, St. Clair was treated to four hours of uninterrupted offshore powerboat racing Sunday.

More than 30 teams from across the country participated in the 30th running of the St. Clair River Classic.

Palmer Park and Riverside Avenue were filled with thousands of spectators, as the event's fourth and final day culminated with four separate races.

"There's just so much action," said Zac Felix, of St. Clair, who sat in Palmer Park with his wife, Jordyn. "We enjoy coming downtown, seeing the boats and all the activity. It's just a great weekend."

"I grew up in St. Clair," Jordyn Felix said. "When I was younger, I would go a few times with my family … I liked the boat parade that they had this year. That was cool. We went and watched that Friday night and then came down (to the park) afterwards."

The Class 4 race was won by Crazy Rhythm, a team based in St. Clair. As for the final race, it ended just before 4:30 p.m. — roughly 50 minutes earlier than last year.

The River Classic, which is produced by the Blue Water Offshore Racing Association, is one of six events held during the Offshore Powerboat Association's 2024 season.
