Overnight Fire in Southern Minnesota Claims 2 Lives
Montgomery, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Fire Marshal has been called to investigate a deadly house fire in Le Sueur County. The Sheriff's Office says the fire was reported around 1 AM at a rural home near Montgomery. The 911 call was from one of the victims who reported that she and her husband were trapped in the burning home.

The Blue Earth County Elections Office will be testing its optical scan precinct counters and assistive voting devices on Thursday, July 18. Testing will be held at 9:00 AM in the Elections Office on the first floor of the Historic Courthouse, 204 S 5th Street, Mankato. Public Accuracy Tests are required by law and are open to the public.

Johnson, Diane Rose age 83 of Lakeville, died in the early morning of Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Fairview Medical Center in Burnsville following a difficult battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Diane was married to Randall Q. Johnson of Lakeville and worked for ThermoKing in Bloomington for many years. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the Waterville Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service. A Waseca man who has previously been convicted of domestic assault three times pleaded not guilty to two felony charges of domestic assault last week, setting the stage for a jury trial and potentially a decade in prison should he be convicted of both counts.
