Judicial Ditch 24 (JD 24) Redetermination of Benefits Hearing; in accordance with MN §103E.351. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, the Joint Blue Earth, Faribault, and Martin County Board of Commissioners, sitting as the Drainage Authority for Judicial Ditch 24, will hold a hearing on the proposed draft Viewers’ Report for the Redetermination of Benefits and Damages for Judicial Ditch 24. The drafted Viewers’ Report was filed with the Drainage Authority on June 26, 2024. The hearing shall be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the Board of Commissioners’ Room, located on the second floor of the Blue Earth County Historic Courthouse, 204 South 5th Street, Mankato, Minnesota, 56001. At the Final Hearing, the Drainage Authority will accept public comment regarding the drafted Viewers’ Report for Judicial Ditch 24. Any party having an interest in the proceedings may appear and provide comment. The hearing will be conducted in-person only. Written comments will be accepted at the hearing. Comments made by mail will be accepted up to the date and time of the hearing at the office of Blue Earth County Property and Environmental Resources, Drainage Management, 410 South 5th Street, PO Box 3566, Mankato, MN 56002-3566. Copies of the draft Viewers’ Report are available for inspection at the Blue Earth County Property & Environmental Resources Department, Drainage Management, or available online at https://blueearth.drainagedb.net/#/portal.

Winnebago – Ron Schenk, of Winnebago, a dedicated and hardworking individual who lived life to the fullest, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024, at the age of 64, in his home surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of his life was at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Rev. Mike Omtevedt officiated. Morries survive rally from Cleveland and advance in 13/60 playoffs
Facing elimination in the 13/60 playoff bracket, the Morristown Morries and Cleveland Spiders traveled to Faribault’s Bell Field for the play-in round. After trailing by three runs for much of the night, Cleveland put-together a four-run rally in the seventh to take a lead, but the Morries bunkered down and retook the lead in bottom of the seventh, holding on to win 6-5.
